We are pleased to offer Alumasc’s new lightweight steel range. The Infinity ZM range of gutters, hoppers and downpipes has been improved with a new, innovative coating of Zinc, Magnesium and Aluminium to produce an even more robust rainwater system with a full system guarantee of 15 years. The highlight of this stylish colour-coated range is its three-layer corrosion-resistant coating system, designed to perform for 25 years without repainting while providing excellent corrosion protection. The galvanised layer further enhances the durability of the steel as galvanising provides sacrificial protection, where the protective zinc coating corrodes first to protect the underlying steel.
The galvanising process involves coating the steel core with zinc and magnesium molecules, creating a metallurgically bonded protective coating that offers long-term corrosion protection.
Galvanised steel can last over 50 years in rural areas and 20-25 years in urban locations without needing repainting.

Environmental Benefits
Galvanised steel guttering, including the colour-coated versions, offers a more eco-friendly alternative to plastic gutters. This is due to the metal’s significantly longer lifespan and its 100% recyclability at the end of its life cycle. Unlike plastic, galvanised steel does not contribute to environmental contamination through microplastics, which can enter ecosystems during the production of new plastic or when old plastic waste breaks down in landfills, eventually affecting wildlife.
- Given that the most significant expense in installation is the scaffolding required to reach the roofline (unless it’s a bungalow), minimizing the frequency of replacements is economically beneficial.
- Our Infinity Galvanised steel rainwater system is backed by a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty, but with proper installation and basic ongoing maintenance, it can last over 25 years. (And the new ZM coating comes with a 20 year warranty)
To make it more appealing to choose the environmentally friendly option, we are offering a 30% discount on ZM Galvanised steel guttering and up to 50% off on selected colour-coated Galvanised steel gutters and downpipes, available in 80mm, 100mm, and the new smaller diameter/gauge of 60mm.

Additional Powder Coated Guttering Colours
Additional colour options can be ordered, though they might require longer lead times and may incur colour surcharges. For more details, please contact our customer service team at 0800 644 4428. The powder coating provides an additional and more durable finish, ensuring longevity and aesthetic appeal.
Powder coating offers significant advantages over other methods of applying colour, including enhanced durability. The powder coating process involves multiple steps and the application of an electrically charged powder to metal surfaces. Powder coatings are also environmentally friendly.
Both galvanising and powder coating are methods used to protect metal surfaces from corrosion.
Powder coating offers a wide variety of colours, while Galvanised Steel is available in only one colour, silver, which dulls/darkens over time due to the zinc surface oxidising to protect the core steel.
A rainbow range of colours is available in Galvanised Steel Guttering and Downpipes with longer lead times and sometimes a surcharge [Read more about these 2 non-standard examples – Pale Stone and Chartwell Green]

Please note: The protective zinc layer of zinc, may develop white rust when exposed to moisture, like dew, during storage outside but wrapped in plastic – and is also negatively effected by rainwater run off from high acidic woods – so please read our safe storage and acidic woods guidance.
