A. 40 years+ depending upon maintenance

Q. What European or British standards cover cast iron rainwater?
A. BS 460:1964

Q. Can special fittings be manufactured for cast iron rainwater at my request?
A. Yes providing all details ie. dimensions/templates are supplied

Q. How will I know the system I chose will be able to cope with the flow of water from my roof?
A. Rainclear in conjunction with our manufacturers can provide a full design service, we will however require a full roof drawing for this to be carried out.

Q. What should I use to seal all of the joints on my cast iron rainwater system?
A. We recommend Dow Corning 791 or a purpose made rubber joint sealing kit both available to buy online

Q. Is my cast iron painted rainwater maintenance free?
A. No, it will need re-painting when required

Q. How do I cut my cast iron gutter and pipework?
A. Angle grinder or disc cutter

Q. If I have a very old cast iron rainwater system that needs matching can you does this?
A. Yes, providing all details ie. dimensions/templates are supplied

A. 40 years in mill finish

Q. What European or British standards cover aluminium rainwater?
A. BS2997:1958 (1980)

Q. Can special fittings be manufactured for aluminium rainwater at my request?
A. Yes providing all details ie. dimensions/templates are supplied

A. We recommend the use of Dow Corning 791 silicone sealant

Q. Is my aluminium powder coated rainwater maintenance free?
A. Aluminium ( Please see attached Aluminium brochure, page 29)

Q. How do I cut my aluminium gutter and pipework?
A. Normal metal work tools will suffice, ie. jigsaw etc.
